Parked in the street just below Pontypridd Golf Club, walked along the road and up the grass hill to the top. Wet and misty today so views not great. Trigpoint has a horizontal crack just above the Flush Bracket and someone has vandalised it with carvings.

Parked at lay-by above Craig-Yr-hufen and walked along footpath to the trig. Easily accessible. Sat on ridge with views over Pontypridd and Taffs Well. Pillar has a slight crack, spider and FB intact.

3rd of the afternoon just before loosing the light. Parked at road side just after bend (narrow) a simple 10 minute walk to the top. Good views even in the fading light. Flush Bracket, Spider in place. Pillar has some cut out graffiti, horizontal crack on all four sides but sits on a good plinth. All sight holes closed.

walked over from Mynydd Mayo trig and then returned to parking avoiding the cows on the open access land as we had dogs with us.

Very easy up and down from minor road corner. Most of the old parking there has been covered with piles of gravel but you can still just about get over. From here its a fairly steep up on a trigbagger/hillbagger trail up through the ferns to the ridge then along to trig. Not much of a view as it was grey and murky. 2nd trig of the day earlier we bagged Mynydd Y Glyn and later we bagged Garth Hill and Wentwood trigs as well as Penhow FBM.

Another two TPs reached by walking from home; via Tongwynlais, Taff Trail, up lane to hamlet of Eglwysilan and finally to the TP reached in just under three hours. Fantastic 360 degree views from the top encompassing the whole of South East Wales. Return via Mynydd Meio, TP5028.

Just out of nearly 2 months covid local lock down. 1/3 for day. From x-roads just N of Rose and Crown pub (closed) and church. Along Eglwysilan road passing detritus of several impromptu fire work parties then open hillside to pillar, swirling mist . Wonder why this hill called Cefn Eglwysilan on OS map but Mynydd Eglwysilan is name of pillar (when Mynydd Eglwysilan on map is 2+ miles distant and its pillar is not called either name).

Walked up the steep incline from the Eglwysilan Road. Low cloud had lifted in the time it took to get here from Mynydd Mayo down the road. Lovely 360deg views with wispy cloud in the valleys and over the towns. Pillar looks in good condition... apart from the horizontal crack on all 4 sides a few inches above the FB, surely this should categorize it as 'slightly damaged' at least? All 4 sight holes sealed; cap missing and no plug.

Great views despite low cloud - must be great in the summer. Very boggy on approach from CC12 GeoCache, but found a better way off by contouring around hill with masts. There is a crack around the pillar just above plate, some graffiti and a plastic pipe has been inserted into the 'hole'.

Nice viewpoint.pillar in good condition ,cant relax until I find the car still with its wheels on upon my return.Usual dumped rubbish on road up. Some of the locals may be pikeys that dump crap everywhere but I bet the decent folk still pay council tax ,so why dont the council clear fly tipped rubbish down this way? Maybe they think its a tourist attraction ? Personally if it wasnt for the pillars I would never ever visit this area. Am sure am not the only person to feel this way ,so think how much revenue (eating out,re visits,shopping etc. The area has lots to offer in terms of scenery and access but until they reign in the local oiks there is no hope) they will continue to miss out because everywhere looks like a landfill site. Sad place.

Output E 309709, N 190509, 341m hence ST0970990509. Saw a mad squirrel that was chased by a sheep to the top of the trig point and I could not resist these photos. The weather must have been good as I managed to dreg the rest of the family up to this triple bag - trig, Marilyn and County Top. Good views and a great contrast to being in the valley not far below. The concrete plug on one of the sight holes is makeing a bid for escape!

Condition unchanged in last month. Parking again to the southwest either at point where footpath leaves the road to the SW or 100m further on in a passing space, road is quiet enough. Wind is now almost blowing me off my feet and the rain started about 2 minutes after I got back to the car My kind of timing:-)
