Finally got round to my 'most wanted'! With Simon Rushton on Solstice day, we stayed at the top almost an hour waiting to watch the sun set, fabulous. Storm's 550th pillar, from which we could see her 500th (West Lomond) and 400th (Sayers Law).

First Trigpoint we have bagged in over a year! Think we went the toughest way up the hill, as once we climbed it and ventured back down, we realised there was an easier path-led route we could've followed. Tough climb but well worth it. The views from the trig are fantastic! The only thing that knocks a point off for us is that it was fairly busy with lots of people. We prefer the tranquil trigs! Very easy to find this trig and there is car parking at the bottom of the hill. Well signed and a lovely, fairly quick walk to this trigpoint.

Found this place by accident when looking for a place to park for a bit while returning to Glasgow from Tantallon castle. This is my first log now! Beautiful views of the sea, Tantallon castle, and Bass Rock; and you can just make out the Forth bridges. About a half hour walk to the trigpoint from the parking.

Looking North from the trigpoint The white structure is a replica of a whale's jaw bone.

A day visit by train to North Berwick gave me the chance of a nice walk from the town centre up to the trig point. Sunny weather allowed some fantastic views over to the Bass Rock and the Fife coastline. I think the written inscription on the side of the trig says it all!

Parked at The Law car park. No charge. Interpretation board is very informative regarding geology of this hill. A labrynth of routes to this summit. Pristine white pillar accompanied with a view finder pillar. If there is no wind it is a great opportunity to spend time analysing the surrounding high points. Spider infilled. Views are spectacular. Well worth the 1hour return journey.

Iconic looking volcanic plug rising out of the mainly lowlying area of Lothian. Good car park. Took the steep direct route to the top and the more easier gradient back on the FP. Pillar has a composite disc plugging the central tube; LHS sight hole open. There is stencilling on the rear face "LIVE FOR / THE / MOMENT". Extensive panoramic views.

On the way to Edinburgh from Holy Island bagged Whittingehame FBM , walked up to bag Traprain Law and then drove round to and walked up North Berwick Law. Great little hill.

Walked up the path from the car park - a surprisingly easy climb for a hill that appears to be rather steep from the distance. Plenty of photographic interest with the ruin and replica whalebones in addition to the trig, and absolutely stunning views in all directions. Lovely to see another gleaming white trig and I loved the "Live for the Moment" message, even if it does happen to be graffiti :) Well worth the journey up from the Borders to get this one in the bag.

Our boat trip round the Bass Rock was cancelled,something about a bit of wind; so did the next best thing, which was to climb it's sister volcanic plug. Went straight up the front to a deserted top with a lot going on. From replica whale jawbones to a very good view finder; a ruined stone hut and wartime lookout post - there is something for everyone. Plus a good view of the Firth of Forth islands and a pristine white trig living for the moment

Good condition pillar atop North Berwick Law. FB faces NE-ish with SE-ish sighthole open only. Plastic cap has replaced the original cap. Pillar has been repainted and is now gleaming white. Crystal clear views from the top today. Stunning. Lovely Exmoor ponies on the hillside and lots of rooks.

Wandered up from North Berwick railway station. A nice & easy climb to the summit on a fine sunny day. Great views but very windy so didn't hang sbout.

The Trig now has "Live for the Moment" written on it (better wording than the trig on Guisborough Moor, Cleveland or the graffiti on Arthur's Seat). Fantastic views on a sunny clear day and plenty of interest at the summit too - shelter/lookout; toposcope; whalebone arch and crags.

Yet another that I have no date for but have visited at least twice. Once following a geology field trip and once with my granddaughter , the latter was in 2013. I'm guessing the former was a couple of years earlier. Gretat views both times .

Pleasant walk from car park at NT553843. Popular spot for dog walking it would seem...! Well-defined path until two-thirds of the way up; thereafter one can pick one of many routes to the summit! Curious craggy summit with odd fibreglass whale jawbone sculpture below and topograph plinth near to the trig. Excellent views of the East Lothian countryside, the Firth of Forth, Edinburgh, Fife and beyond. Nice white pillar in good condition. FB faces N. Position logged from average of 2 readings from GPS device accurate to ±5m.

Just occasionally you get one that is perfect. Been up here a few times, but that was in the days when I didn't log the trig details. The weather today was superb. Crystal clear views everywhere - The Ochils, The Moorfoots, The Lammermuirs, The Pentands, The Grampians. Ben Lomond was visible. Ben Volrich was visible. The Bass Rock looked like it was glowing. Oh, and there is a trigpoint too!

SITE VISIT: The trig pillar in very good condition. Grey plastic plug glued into spider. Flush bracket faces north. This distinctive landmark and extinct volcano is at the southern edge of North Berwick. The law is accessed from the track to the west. Original trig visit to record FB number but previously up here with parents and brother, c1970. HISTORY: Pillar completed 5th September 1943 costing £8.14s.6d. Computed as secondary triangulation station NT48/6 within the Edinburgh block during 1943. This station was also used for the reconnaissance of secondary block NT86 (Berwick) during 1953. The flush bracket was levelled for height to first class precision, tertiary standards in February 1967. Final pre-GPS maintenance by the OS was undertaken in Augusy 1989. This marker was later visited by the OS on 17th October 2000. SITE VISIT: Expansive views in all directions.
