Unusual FBM- is it an FBM? it's definitely OS as it has a plaque and the bolt on top is like the top of a standard FBM. But, it's located under a c30cm diameter liftable concrete lid , and set in a concrete ring at ground level. Easy to find on east side of road at SO1087893670 in grass verge roughly half way between hedge and tarmac. Possible to pull in right by it with care. No pen, no height tag, no FBM plaque.

Unusual design for an FBM being a 'top hay style bolt' with nipple set in concrete under a ~30cm diameter concrete lid

Odd FBM as noted in earlier logs. Easy enough to find beside the road, but... odd. It's got a lid. Marked slightly damaged due to some chipping etc on the screed round it. The FBM piece seems intact.

Another oddity of a FBM. Circular, set near enough at ground level in narrow grass verge. Cap tricky to remove, needed couple of items from the car. A standard FBM bolt revealed once the cap was lifted.

strange FBM not is that easy to locate, located flush with the ground, looks more normal when you lift the lid off and you can see a more standard bolt.

I was glad of the guidance from 1:10,000 map and guidance from the site. Several minutes spent parting long grass, ferns, brambles etc. The FBM is totally covered by a firmly attached variety of moss, so the sight of the OS metal tag was the confirmation of finding it! Certainly didn't look like the TheJackRustles photo. Out on a day trip from YHA Clun. FBMs still ahead of pillars for the year at 4 to 3 !

I called in to bag this one whilst heading up to bag some Marilyns not too far north of here. A srrange covered FBM which had me fooled for a while. Glad it had a OS plaque on it.

My first FBM, never spotted one on my travels and this one is about 7 miles from home. Surface looks a bit weak from frost and lichens/mosses. I paced it out 20 from the drainage cover on the road edge at the summit of the road -well once I had stamped about and cleared the grass and nettles.

Easily found on eastern roadside verge, 23m south (approx) of the crossroads sign on the western verge. Manhole covers aren't much use as there's a series of them along the verge.

E verge at road summit, not the standard marker post/pillar: shallow chamber under light concrete lid easy to lift, was filled with water, standard FBM stud underneath. Welsh & Eng GPS plaques, no height label. No railings. Limited parking by junct to N
