Managed to reach it through the bush from the road. Due to the overgrown nettles I couldn't get to the flush bracket and didn't have enough time to go around to the gates of the field.

From road junction near church. Just managed to spot pillar through hedge. Pillar up tight to fence on field side. FB on field side but managed to view FB by lying on top of pillar and taking pic with outstretched arm without disturbing fence.

impossible to see from roadside so went round to the se of the pillar and a simple stroll over freshly cut grass,could see the pillar from the gate.

Parked along the road to the SW of the trig, just before Penyclawdd & Llangovan Village Hall & the School House. Impossible to get to this roadside trig from the road side! No gaps in the very thick hedge at this time of the year, I could just barely see the trig through the hedge. Could have very easily missed it. I'm logging this one as "unreachable but visible" but only because I didn't have time to go drive round and enter the field through the gate to the SE of the trig, as other loggers have stated. Happy summer solstice!

Easy roadside trig ..

Roadside location with a good parking spot a few metres south of the trig. Need to hop the fence to see the pillar properly. Hedge is now quite dense and there is a wire fence topped with a strand of barbed-wire so difficult to negotiate, but there is a weak point in the hedge close to the pillar where the field can be accessed with care - if enough baggers don't maintain this gap it will close! Pillar is in fairly good condition with some minor chipping on the top corners, metal plug.

There's a parking spot near the house but that just sets the dog off barking and leaves you with the problem of how to het to the trig as mentioed by previous visitors. Had to resort to a bit of fence hopping to get to it.

The pillar stands next to a thick hedge on the edge of a grass field on top of a hill to the southwest of Monmouth. There are a couple of very small chips missing from the top corners of the trig. The eastern face of its base is exposed a little. It has a metal cap with deep lettering and FB S6968. There is convenient parking on the adjacent minor road 50 metres to the south. The field was entered by climbing over the fence in a thinner part of the hedge close to the trig. This may be a bit trickier later in the year. The view to the east is of a pleasant rolling landscape of rounded hills of woods and fields. Trees block out the view to the northwest. This is a shame because from the adjacent road there is a fine view to the distant hills of The Black Mountains.

There were cattle by the gate but now the hedge has died back its easy to see the trig from the road.

Had a business trip to USK, so did my research before hand. Unfortunately, my GPS and computer were set to different datums! Really struggled with that and two others. Only going to count this one!!! I knew roughly where it would be and I could see it from the road through the very thick hedge.

Another roadside one you cant get to from the roadside! Easiest way is from road running NE /SE to the E of pillar,park in gate then over field,lovely views from the field to S Wales .

Found it this time. So much easier to find trigs in winter. However, although I could see it through the hedge, about 2 feet away, I couldn't see the FB number and there was no obvious access point to field so I left it at that.

Not sure which side of the road it was supposed to be on and was defeated by massive hedges with no gaps on each side so had to give up. Almost certainly there somewhere.
