Parked in a tiny layby on Quixhill Road and walked up Prestwood Lane, very muddy and certainly wouldn't recommend driving up this particular bit of the lane..reached the reservoir and found the trig which is in good condition. Weird weird toilet next to it and as it was going dark I did feel a bit uneasy but on a good day I would imagine there are good views to be had.

(3322) Handy layby on Quixhill Lane. Then an easy 5 minute walk up Prestwood Lane to the pillar. Doable in the car, but by this point I'd had my fill of rough single track driving. Pillar in very good condition and still sporting all its metalwork. Located next to a toilet! Getting increasingly warm now, so time to head off home. But a good one to end the day on all told. Pillar history: Built on the 6th of April 1938, at a cost of £4 9s 4d. Last maintained by the OS in July of 1983.

Parked on Quixhall Lane. From there, initially tried using the public right of way (PRoW), but that just took me to a field with two bulls in it, which I did not bother to enter! The farmers who own the land then very kindly directed me onto Prestwood Lane as an alternative route, and that took me up to the pillar.

Very easy find, to the right hand side of the ROW as the path takes a left hand turn. The views are definitely worth the effort of the uphill run from Denstone. Trig was in good condition.

A bit disappointed with this trig, my imagination had it in different location with spendid views. It was found in overgrown foliage near a farm track and I could have easily missed it. I cycled all the way to the trig and onto Rocester. Good planning the previous evening enabled 3 (now 5) trigs to be logged. Planning is gifted the trigs today....need to do it more often.

re-visit. Previously in 2007 by bike and 2008 on walk with friends. Came up road/track from SE. Pillar in excellent condition. Stopped for lunch sat on a bench outside JCB's World Headquarters looking over their lake and the birds using it. Lots of people out walking around the lake. Even the icecream van present.

Drove up track to park at the allotments, chatted to the gardeners who pointed us in the direction of the trig.

Parked on Quixhill lane and walked along Prestwood lane to Reservoir gate. Trig point is to the right in the long grass. It looks as if it's possible to drive up the lane from the other direction to the trig because two cars were parked near the reservoir .

Circular walk from Upper Ellastone. SW across pasture and wheat fields then along Prestwood Ln. Pillar is located behind reservoir compound and is currently surrounded by nettles. Limited views. Metal cap with indented lettering.

Thought I'd chance driving to this one. Not too bad from the NW, although I ended up in a muddy farmyard at one point. Limited view from the trig. Continued along the track to the SE which I wouldn't recommend unless in a 4x4 or van as the centre of the track is very overgrown. Didn't enjoy hearing the scraping noise from the underside of the car, especially when negotiating the muddy ruts!

have just come across your page about this trig point! Despite this unfortunate trig being being located in Staffordshire, I need it to get all those on sheet 119. Drove lane from SE to NW. Approach from NW is easier on suspension but both are ok & tarmac. Parked right by trig in large parking area.

Walked up from Rocester then on to Birchwood Park. The trigpoint now has its own carpark, new allotments have been made below the reservoir, the tenants can drive up the lane from either direction and park above the reservoir right next to the trigpoint. The lane to the south is a bit rough but passable.

Caught the bus to Ellastone walked up Marlpit Lane,turned left onto footpath.I was met a little higher up by a farmer very nice guy and we ended up discussing his Rare Breed of Irish Cattle.Nice Trig and Great Views to Weaver Hills.Went down path to Allotments and down to Bus stop.It was at this point I discovered Ihad dropped my Bus Pass.I was going to pay my fare when the driver TOM informed I had dropped it on the Bus prior.Phew.Trigpoint Fever

Bagged on circular walk from Ellastone via Stanton and Wootton. It is possible to drive to this one from Prestwood hamley but lane is very narrow and will be overgrown in summer.

Tried for this from the one end of the lane and it looked a bit dodgy for the Laguna ,so went to the other end where it was worse but decided as i was feeling lazy would drive up anyway .Bit Narrow! Still pillar is fine and car wll clean up!

This pillar is easy to find as it is just off a track that is also a public right of way. Wait until the track turns sharply to the right, and the pillar is about ten yards away to the right, near a greenhouse. There are some good views, especially down the Dove Valley past the JCB works.
