Blowing a hoolie today, very difficult walking conditions but worth the soggy, squelchy yomp over Monk's Moor just to be out in clear blue skies and sunshine. Fab views S over Teesdale and beyond.

Walked over from Eggleston Moor trig via Eggleston Burn, Foggerthwaite Allotment and then CB to this pillar situated on grouse moorland and with no defined path leading to it....bite your lip and trudge trudge to bag 4/5. The coal man I spied delivering coal in actual proper sacks is gifted the three today....started humming Hovis tune when I saw him.

Ran up from corner of road at Snaisgill, heading first for the cairn, and then continue straight on beyond that, to finally find the trig. Then over the top of Monks Moor, before a quick loop of the small body of water before a run back along the road to the car.

Parked at the top of the pass and walked alongside the wall. The landowner has constructed many new fences with chicken wire at the base to stop you climbing them so its very difficult to go this way now! Ploughed up through deep heather trig in vgc only plug of day good view.
