Easily accessed from the steps at the end of Park Road via the kissing gate and along the edge of the golf course. It's easy to walk past this pillar, it's on the left behind the brambles just after the short uphill climb. Pillar is very mossy but in good nick, and it still had the painted pebble from AutomatedAnimal's visit on top of it. Few golfers seen at this hour of the morning.

visited this first in the dusk of 20th July in sandals and shorts and with having brought a walking pole to bash nettles and bramble. Despite having other peoples pics on my phone to look at the direction of the view up the river and the tree positions, and knowing I was very close, I couldn't find it. Returning five days later I found that I was standing only four-five feet from it obscured by nettle, bramble and ivy!!

Parked in park road next to steps which leads up to Golf Course.trig found just off footpath on edge of the green. Trig surrounded by dumped leaves. Looks over the Avon.

Quick drive to Park Rd and short walk up the path. Trig is on the edge of Golf course. Some helpful person has dumped a load of leaves over it, so had to dig out the FB using a stick. Good views over the river.

Not easy to spot,most notable for the wasps nest by the pillar,got stung twice ,at the grand old age of 46 this was my first encounter with a wasp sting!!!

Easy short walk along edge of golf course bit actually get to the trig point took a bit of doing, nettles, brambles, happy days.

First of the mega 4 day bagging trip. Easy track from Park Road up to golf course, trig quite hard to spot and surrounded in nettles, also seemed to be a dumping ground for the golf course clippings and general rubbish, so hugging the trig was out on this occasion.

Located in rough scrubby land between RoW at edge of golf course and the well-kept greens. Pillar found completely encased in bramble and ivy, with FB partially obscud by rising ground level. Cap missing, no plug; all sight holes below ground level; BSM-style FB. Good views S over River Avon.

Found on a caching walk around Shirehampton Park. Pillar is on rough overgrown ground to side of golf course. Bit discoloured and edges chipped. Some ivy starting to grow up it, flush bracket and top mount mildly corroded but still intact apart from hollow centre to top mount. Lovely views over park and Avon from this relatively secluded spot.

I parked in the golf course car park then along to this one - was a bit difficult to find as it hiding on the side of the hill and lost in the undergrowth - bit of digging required to see FB number and the top was covered in ivy - missing cap and plug - views over the avon gorge nearby.

Parked car on Park Road near steps at the A4 end.Took public footpath on edge of golf course eastward up hill. Had to do a bit of digging to see the FB plate a bit overgrown.Good views of river Avon and club house.

Walked around the edge of the (National Trust!)golf course. In a patch of brambles but easily trodden down. Fb needs digging out again. Nice enough views over a meander in the Avon but somewhat spoiled by the noise of the portway ( and the golf course).

When found the pillar was buried in Ivy and Brambles. It took a while to drag the vegitation off and to dig down enough to see flush bracket.

I walked over to this trig from the West side of the golf course, and missed it on the first pass. It has still got a good view along the Avon, but the top cap is missing, the brambles are starting to surround it and the pillar is slowly getting buried deeper. The path has suffered from the plague of dog-walkers (dubious little bags of s**t everywhere), but will look nicer over the next few weeks as the bluebells are starting to come out.

The pillar is sited above a public footpath on the perimeter of a golf course; on very rough ground next to a tee. No nettles today. Ivy was growing on its south side; the FB, S/3376, on the north side was buried up to the arrow and it lacks a cap or plug. The pillar looks out over a bend in the River Avon to the south. Farmland extends from Chapel Pill to Ashton Hill to the south of the river. On the east bank are the suburbs of Bristol.

We parked to the north then walked into the golf course past the clubhouse and followed the perimeter round to thee trig. On the way back we just headed for the clubhouse, taking care not to disturb the golfers too much. Nice views of the Avon. Missing plug.
