1 of 3 today - Parked at pull in opposite ROW entrance to trig, the pillar can be seen from the road on top of a rocky outcrop and flanked by radio/mobile phone masts, Followed path to top of rise and entered the field through a gate in the fence a bit further up passed the trig, easy trig to bag and the views of St Mary Church and all round are fair but it was a bit murky today, there is a crack in the pillar but generally in good condition, the FB, Spider and plug are all intact. Nice bag.

Narrow lanes up to this one. Had a stop at the church on they way back. Parking on the road opposite to trig. Trig could be seen from the road! Easy to bag and get to. PROW leads up slightly past trig where there is a fence to cross to take you to the trig and some interestingly weathered boulders and drilled holes! Trig has a crack running around at FB level, one sight hole is open, cap/plug, FB and spider are all in place. Interesting facts about this one from Gower Lad had me imagining all sorts about the past while here.

Drove in from Ruthin, missed a turning and took an extremely narrow, single track road with few passing places, in circuitous route, to church to NW. Very grateful to not have met another vehicle. Parked on bank outside church yard. Short walk to pillar amongst outcropping rock on hill top. Impressed by fine views over Vale and southern end of south Wales valleys. A chap at the church told me he remembered as a child, in the early 1960's, being taken to a gypsy horse fair which took place annually on the hill top. Original cap.

From minor road to NW on RoW, then over stock fencing. Pillar sits in an area of large boulders strewn over a grassy pasture near 2 comms compounds. It retains original top cap, with indented lettering; rear sight hole open. A substantial fracture partially circles the pillar at approx FB height, extending across front, RHD side and rear (partway) faces; there is also some loss of screed to top surface. Good distant views in early morning murkiness.
