Homage to Rory Gowland RIP. Brewer, musician, scientist and raconteur, founder of the Swansea Brewing Company, who walked up to this summit with our group about 8 years ago. His alumni mates gathered at CP above Llithfaen for walk to summit where we toasted his life with a bottle of his own cider. And what a day, still and clear, not a cloud in the sky, the splendor of Snowdonia and the Lleyn in every direction.

A stone-built replacement pillar for Yr Eifl sharing the same FB number as its predecessor. And the same, or similar, names perhaps? The 2 names have a similar sound to each other despite their spellings, and this new one perhaps 'rivalled' the old pillar as they most likely stood side-by-side for a short period with this pillar being computed June 1961 and Yr Eifl being destroyed October of the same year. Maybe there was some punning going on here, or maybe just my imagination. The pillar has an adornment cemented into, and protruding from, the central tube; rear sight hole open. Most likely there are wonderful panoramic views to be had, but not today.
