I was in the area tonight with Hitman9956 and we had a quick walk up to the trigpoint. I know I've been here before but don't seem to have any photographic proof. It's a pity the trig isn't right on the top but I guess it's slightly more out of the wind. All very nicely maintained.

I painted this in May 2023. It was a nice walk up through the park to the Trig Point. Unfortunately to see the views I had to cut down tons of annoyingly prickly bush things, they are over grown and ruin the site (IMO) the Trig is in very good condition and came up smashing !

Six trigs bagged with Trudge Tracey, making our way home from The Wirral. This was the first. We parked in Thurstaston car park just off Telegraph Road for the short walk to the pillar. Great views off the top accross the Dee Estuary to North Wales and also towards Liverpool in the opposite direction. The cathedral was visible on the horizon. The pillar is in generally good condition but the original centre for the spider has been replaced with a plain disc.

Penultimate day of visiting son, decorating and taking walks in the Bunter sandstone hills and heaths-same rock as my home town, Mansfield. Walked round Caldy Hill and Thurstaston Common, this latter with an unusual mini Ayres Rock formation, viewpoint and trigpoint. Could see N up the Mersey towards Liverpool and W across the Dee to north Wales. Well worth it. If you visit West Kirby, walk across the estuary at low tide to Hilbre Island, you won't be dissappointed.

Walked up the hill to get a great view of the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn and saw the pillar. Lots of gorse around it, but clear enough to get to easily.

My first visit ever to the Wirral. Here on a junior shark dive at the Blue Planet with Melissa. But first a trig visit. And this one is easy as they come. A car park (busy) and a very short walk to the pillar which is hard to miss on the way up to the viewpoint. Lovely views over the Dee to Wales. Pillar in good condition, with a red hue, standing on a plinth in some gorse with no access issues.

The trig itself is skulking (or is it sulking) in some scrub on a plinth but the summit itself with its weathered rocks; benches and toposcope (of a sort) is well worth a visit with good views over the Wirral. Convenient parking close to the summit.

A shy retiring pillar this one. Difficult to spot from the nearby view point even though I had just come from the pillar. Normally pillars act like magnets, but I doubt that 1 in a 100 visitors to this hill visit it, notice it or are aware of its existence.

Carpark to SE, off the A540. Short walk on woodland paths. Better views to be had 40m further W. Pillar has a reddish tinge to it and sits on a large plinth. Top cap missing, replaced with a composite disc. 'BSM' style FB; All sight holes open. No views, that I remember - a dull, wet and windy day. With Alex Cameron.

Bit of a random day, planned on a seaside walk and clocked the hill - no gps or map guessed there might be a trig. A surprisingly fine and diverse place walked past the old hall, lunch at Benty Farm (v nice). Slightly sad there was no trig after all, then watching heavy rain come in from Wales and seeing sun pools over Bowland, Winter Hill and the Dee estuary - there it is just below the high point ensconced by gorse! Excellent, just back to the car in time for the rain

At hill top mounted on concrete plinth on sandstone outcrop. Competes with nearby topograph on slightly lower (?) outcrop for attention. A fine hill top with public access and grand views out over both the Dee Estuary and across the Wirral to Liverpool. Moderate NW wind, a bank of white cumulus billowing up into otherwise clear skies.

I walked up from West Kirby Station & after visiting Grange Hill Trig on day off, fantastic area amazing views.Down to the Dee Hotel after for a couple of well deserved ice cold Thatchers Gold Cider's,before train home brilliant day.

Parked in Thurstaston country park car park. Nice easy 400ft walk up to the trig over smooth sandstone rock. Surprise at the top being such brilliant views over the Wirral and Liverpool. Even better views at the information plinth nearby.

Popular with geocachers by the looks of things. She sits on top of a large once red concrete base on this sandstone hill. Her view is not as good as it might be but it is still a good location to live.
