Not an easy trig to access. As mentioned on previous comments, aim for the lone tree and there is a gate behind it (with barbed wire on the top). Then work your way through the trees through no obvious paths.

Once through the gate head for a lonesome tree in the field, follow it up to the wall and a dodgy gate allows access into the woods (safer climbing the wall). Despite recent storms there are numerous deer tracks that will guide you to the hill top and onwards. It is further east and commands a spectacular view over Foulshaw Moss ( trees not in leaf). Worth the effort. Its that time of year again and a Gluten Free Mooless pie was crowned Supreme Champion. Gifted to this pie, which I can assure you won't be copied at Higginsons of Grange, Butchers and Pie Makers. The finest.

Located on edge of woodland with some good views E. Accessed from the road to W: field gate, pasture, over a stone wall, up through woodland. Pillar has no centre cap or plug; RHS sight hole open.

Parked by HIghstock Bridge and walked acoss a flat field to the wooden fence/gap inthe perimeter fence. From there on it was a desperate struggle through the high bracken and over fallen trees. The first top ridge isn't the top, so keep heading east for a second ridge. Finding this trig in the summer foilage is akin to a good game of hide and seek. PS ! The day after I found 3 ticks on the underside of my upper arms ,presumably due to parting the bracken. Deer ticks I imagine.

Parked near Highstock Bridge through gate and across sheep pasture to fence wall junction. Across fence to use small breach in wall then up through wood with plenty of bluebells and holly to lovely summit on a sunny. morning.

Parked at road beside what looks like a walk. Crossed over and over gate, up through field to wooden gate in wall. Followed a deer track through bracken pretty much straight to the trig. Very wet at pillar.

Same route from lane, but dry and hot day. Surprising amount of holly bushes in the wood to add to the general discomfort

Parked off road near to gate and crossed somewhat soggy field, over a wall and ascended through the woods.There is no path and lots of fallen tres to negotiate, quite hard going. The pillar sits atop a grassy mound. No views whatsoever. The flush bracket number is highlighted in yellow paint.

From road, across one field somewhat visible to farm. Soggy woodland with fallen trees. No view. Trig a bit dark and damp with plug missing. Squelched off to Grange-over-Sands to find train cancelled :(

Parked by bridge to the west, next to the entrance to Meathop Moss reserve. Crossed the field and over the hurdle into the woods. A bit rough in places - felled and fallen trees - but easy enough.

parked next to small bridge over 0ne field and up through woodland its not on the first high point you come to you need to go through a dip and up again, no views just trees
