Unexpectedly stumbled across this one having parked up at side of the road and cut through some bushes to walk through the pinewoods. Leaning slightly and some fair views of the stables through the trees and bracken due to winter time. Following the track Westerly takes you out to the private stables entrance which isn’t the clearest when you’re in the woods

Went out on the cycles to see this on but had to call it off when the planned route went through The Royal Studs Friar Marcus Yard.

Being so close to the Sandringham Estate it is not advisable to attempt to go along the track at the yard. Found a place to park and then, after much hunting found a gap in the tree's. Used a compass bearing and paced it out, spooked the deer as well.

The trig remains in good condition apart from a lean just to the S of a clear track in the woods. Behind the roadside rhododendrons there are clear forestry tracks, and at the last T junction before the Royal Stud turn and follow the track S. Hill is cloaked in trees which block any view.

The gate does state private stud farm and we sent everyone there into a frenzy. DO NOT GO THROUGH THE STUD FARM.we followed last couple of logs and we were put on camera and demanded to leave immediately as it was private property. went further down the road and cut through the woods to get to the trig.

Accessed via track thru' Friar Marcus Yard stud entrance, by junction at TF660282. Track to left leads to trig and away from the stud buildings and gated entrance.

As others have said its next to a horse training yard so we went further up road and found a gap in the rhodo to sneak through. Followed my nose up to the summit and to the edge of the wood. Found it quite easily - quite a bit of shooting activity going on below as well!!

It does have a slight wain to the right!! Not much of a view though.©Ling Sinclair

Parked at entrance to Stud Farm followed gravel road which goes along side pens for horses to be trained,but no horses no humans so walked on up road.Where these pens ended there is at track on left up into woods,up this to summit,turn left and Pillar is 80 yds along on the left sitting among bracken.The Pillar is good but appears to be leaning.Back to car by the same route not a soul or horse on this private estate.

Parked in a car parking down the road as the actual place was private. Tried doing it by an os map so walked around for about half an hour before we were caught, but the guy gave us directions and told us to get away quick. Heard quite a lot of gun shots so dunno if the royal family were at sandringham or a farmer was trigger happy.

Parked to the N of the pillar and had an unmolested walk along the track and up the bank [difficult]. Had a bit of trouble spotting the trig to start with but got there in the end. Traces of paint. Original plug with deeply-indented letters. S sighthole open, others closed. Bracken it growing up around it now. Some N views over the marshes.

Had a look at the stud farm road which had a private sign so parked on the road side grid ref TF66741 27993 to the east of the trig. walked to trig passing a small pond and into woods no views as such over looking stud farm trig in good condition.

First 10m from the road is the hardest part. Parked near the entry to the stud farm and walked back entered having just past the limit of the parsonage then easy but bit exposed climb to the trig

This one took a bit of finding as the rhododendrons and bracken were in full spate. Plug with heavily indented lettering.
