(3097) Reading logs on here I settled for a distant view of the general area. May still be about dumped somewhere, who knows.

Viewed from adjacent war memorial to the 351 Bomber Group (Heavy) of the 8th Airforce. The monument lists all the base commanders interesting.

Agreed - certainly no sign of either pillar, interesting location with the Memorial and old Air Force buildings - there are piles of earth and stuff everywhere so fingers crossed the pillars or at least the remains might be around, in anyone can find them Peregrinus can!

One of a pair of Project Emily pillars: given location is 100m into arable field. No trace of either at original location and no apparent sign in the yard (old hanger and brick buildings) which appears to be used by a construction company. Some large concrete structures still in place 200m or so from each trig location and piles of earth / debris so the pillars could be buried in there somewhere. Rod Sladen's researches indicate both had FBs but neither number is known.
