My second visit, this time with my friend Paddy Kane. We met up at Blanchland and left my car a mile to the W at Baybridge, then drove in his to the Byerhope Bridge, and competed a terrific point to point walk taking in Green Hill TP then via Tedham Moss, Riddlehamhope Fell and Beldon Cleugh to Bulbeck Common TP. The weather could have been kinder considering it was late June, but at least we had the wind, the rain and the occasional hail at our backs throughout, along with some rare bursts of sunshine. An excellent day out!

Always felt slightly guilty that almost all of the Northumberland TP's I've bagged have been done by a car journey between each 'bag', today we did 4 in a single round...Green Hill - Harwood Side - Watsons Pike - Bulbeck Common - Green Hill (again)...From Watsons Pike we retraced our steps down the bulldozed track and took the SE fork on Hangman Hill. Our journey W along Rowantree Cleugh to Harwood Shield was accompanied by one very pi$$ed off Oyster Catcher who circled above us squawking the entire time. At Harwood Shield we turned S and followed the track toward Heatheryburn to the stile at P407 where we turned NE along Carriers Way for what was the best part of the 20-odd mile round trip. Ascending from the marvellous Beldon Cleugh we struck SE for the ridge of Round Hill, would recommend contouring further along CW till N of the TP then striking due S up the hill. Would have been excellent 360 views bar the heat-haze...Then off back to Green Hill over Riddlehamhope Fell and Halleywell Causey to return to our start via Green Hill - a long and arduous trip, but immensely satisfying!

A brilliant circular walk from Baybridge via Riddlehamhope returning east along the Carriers Way. The derelict shooting lodge at Riddlehamhope has lost its stone roof since my last visit. Beldon Cleugh is not only an unexpected feature but also the location where I observed two deer. The trig drifted into insignificance on this journey.
