Parked in the little car park opposite the cemetry. Easy walk along the tracks to the trig. We had planned to visit five trigs today but it was such a lovely area that we strolled around the forest for a while and only bagged three. Great view of the lake at Woorsgreens Nature Reserve.

A nice little walk from the road, although not on an open hilltop the forest around it is a beautiful place. 9/10 blue sky.

Nice easy walk and no problems finding it. Parked in a layby in the woods near to the cemetery. Part of the walk is on a forest track, then you need to swap to the footpath than runs parallel to it for a while, which then veers off and leads to the trig.

Parked at cemetery. Opposite cemetery entrance follow footpath to a footpath junction, turn right, follow footpath to 2nd 90 degree bend, turn right, then left follow footpath, pillar is on the left.

Cycled track from road opposite crematorium. Easily spotted, can't believe how I didn't find it the last time four years ago, though then I walked up from cycleway lower down the hill and stile and some woods referred to earlier have gone. My last un-visited pillar in Gloucestershire.

Forestry Commission have cleared the area of most trees. beside a minor track, but impossible to spot from the main vehicular tracks. Flush Bracket BM in excellent condition.

Parked in rough lay bye on the B4226 west of the hospital. Walked north on forest track to trig point. An area of forest has been recently cleared near the trig. Large fox walked across our path on the way back and gave us a good looking at.

Easy access from ROW. Met a rather grumpy woman with two dogs, who said to one of the dogs, as i went by "See him off". Rather uninteresting place to put a trig. No views.

Centre missing. Easy walk, first on the old railway line from the hospital, FP on the left, keep going through the forest, pillar on the left of the path, has it's own stile. Lots of wild boar digging in the forest.

plug gone ...visited this first in '99. re-visit to go to the other 200m point but 300 m further west seems even a metre or two higher on felled ground with small gorse gradually taking over.

Roadside parking on mud verge due S on B4226. Picked up a RoW after 450m, which carried on to the trig. Pillar found approx 9m SW of path in conifer woodland. Minor chipping to top edges; cap missing, no plug; LHD side and rear sight holes open. Last vestige of a white paint job visible. Moss building up at lower levels. No views.

Quick stop off en route home having spent the afternoon walking round the excellent (but very soggy) Sculpture Trail next door. Completely enclosed by trees, S and W s/holes open, as is centre, but structurally sound.

Hidden away in the trees.

The pillar stands on a wooded hill in the Forest of Dean to the east of Monmouth. It lacks a cap or plug and has FB S6973. I approached mostly on forestry tracks from the car park for Speech House Woodlands. All that can be seen from the trig are the nearby paths and trees. There are some lofty Douglas Firs near the car park; the woods were full of bird song; a couple of deer crossed my path in Kensleyridge Inclosure and Woorgreens Lake is quite pretty.

Parked in the small off road space on the North side of the B4226 just East of the cemetery entrance. Walked straight up the tracks to join the path and then to the trig. Lots of forestry and as Stevie Boy says, hard to believe you could see any other trigs from here! Walked back via the old railway line under the B road. Me, Mum, Hadley 200m

Surrounded by forestry Camera attached to a tree with the Gorillapod - but sadly no view to show for it!

Initially tried to find from the S/W coming off the Glos Way but gave up,though did spot a deer. Then parked at Dilke Hosp,crossed road to FP under the bridge,then first left (no signpost). Pillar in VGC but hard to believe that other trigs must have once been visible from here.

Had a day off from work and took a day off from Geocaching to spend the day Trigpointing. Had difficulty parking near hospital as a meeting was being held to protest against the closure of Lydney and Dilke Hospitals. Lovely walk through the woods. Easy access over stile but bracken grown up around the trig.

We parked just to the west of the hospital and headed up to the trig. Just before you get to it there is a stile on the left and the trig is about 30 metres north west in the bracken. Plug with heavily indented lettering.

I parked in the hospital grounds. I heard some weird animal noises in the forest and afterwards my mum told me that there is a fast expanding wild boar population in the forest which probably explained it. The FB number is certainly 6973.

In a clearing surrounded by young trees and bracken. Easy access via a stile. Lovely dusk walk after a tour of the sculpture trail and a run at Blakeney. Saw several fallow deer on walk in.
