Headed north west from Chinnor on B4445 but went too far after losing height, turned around, parked in relatively new housing estate on north east side of road just past the road calming passing point. About 150 metres north west, passed underneath the electricity lines looking into roadside hedge. Spotted pillar. Accessed by continuing on another fifty metres to gate, gap between hedge and gate big enough to get through. Top damaged by cutting machinery. Spider and cap in place. Views across farmland to north west. Busy road, but does have pavement.

This is actually in the field behind the hedge. Best way of accessing it is to go to the gate to the NE of the TP on the road and then walk back. This side of the hedge had been cut back using a flayer so surprised the TP isnt more damaged.

Another diversion from the Ridgeway, pausing to have a look at the Chinnor & Risborough Railway as I strolled through the village. The pillar is easily spotted at this time of the year through its weather-beaten hedge. Cap in place with indented lettering, and one sight-hole open.

Can't believe I was at the same pillar as previous loggers earlier this year; just 3 months later and now completely overgrown with no chance of a sighting from the road side. Parked 200m SE in small pull-in that was the entrance to Chinnor Garden Centre but now barred with large concrete blocks. Walked back along Thame Road passing through hedgerow on NE side of road at a convenient point that reminded me that there are a lot more trig-baggers out there than log on T:UK. Pillar found almost consumed by the hedgerow, cleared a far bit to free it up. Top edges and corners badly chipped, probably from hedge-cutting operations - maybe it should be down-graded to 'Damaged'. Original cap in place, indented lettering; LHD side sight hole open. Good views in an arc NW-N-E; other directions obscured by hedgerow.

A lot of misfortune has obviously befallen this pillar over the last 12 months! All the top corners have been knocked off, one of them quite badly, I imagine the result of hedge-trimming machines or other miscellaneous farmyard ephemera. Anyway, the plug is intact - slightly indented letters. N sighthole open, the others closed. No real traces of paint. Quite good views S towards the Chiltern escarpment. Saw one of the beautiful Chiltern red kites quartering a field just down the road from the pillar.
