Parked at Ladycross Quarry in Slaley Forest, following the footpath South with the last walk across moorland to the trig. Freshly painted white. The beginnings of storm Isha so high winds and driving rain.

Parked in Blanchland and walked to trig via Pennypie Fell. Good track goes close to Trig. If you stay on the track with the trig to your left. just passed level a stile appears which has a path leading directly to the trig. Great views of Bulbeck Common.

You do have to off piste to access it but track in heather is well trod enough. We hiked up through Slaley Forest from Lady cross quarry. Good views across Derwent Reservoir.

Used the forest tracks from Winnowshill Common and out on to the moor following the ROW's. There is an ATV track which runs along the east - west fence and then over the fence and up to the trig.

Nice steady walk up from Blanchland car park, which is £1 in the honesty box. 3 miles north up A Pennine journey towards Carriers Way, jumped over the wooden fence where the two path merged however there is a 5 bar gate further round which makes access a bit easier. Trig all in tact and in good condition

My second visit, different route - parked by the old quarry in the middle of the Slaley Forest and took an anti-clockwise walk through the forest and out onto the moor. Although a fine view point, point deducted for the amount of weekend warriors trashing the moor with off-road jeeps, land rovers and motor bikes. This is definitely a TP to bag midweek! In truth I think I preferred my 2018 route from Actonmill Bridge...

With my travelling companion sleeping off the effects of the LDWA Hadrian 100, I took the opportunity stretch my tired legs and visit a few of the easier pillars to the S of Hexham. From road head, approached on bridlewat to NW of War Law, well managed moorland. Exited along base of shallow valley leading directly towards forest entrance track. A couple of 4x4s chugged past over open access bridalway , whats that all about?? original cap.

From Baybridge up road past Pennypie House to Warlaw Pike, then continued along CW to Bulbeck Common before returning via Newbiggin on a warm, sunny afternoon.

Very quiet, tranquil spot despite it's name and the possibility of green-laners nearby. Great heathland views and easy access form the bridleways to the north and east.

Why has this TP been scored so low? It's fabulous! Parked on the B6306 a couple of miles north of Blanchland where it crosses the Acton Burn (handy for washing dirty dogs in at the end of the walk) and followed the gently rising track west over Blanchland Moor directly to the TP. Fantastic 360 degree views, the real reward is the walk back with the views east to the Derwent Reservoir and south to the hills of County Durham. A marvellous hour and a half there and back, much recommended!

Slaley Forest is the northerly backdrop to this smashing trig point. Some fences to cross over when approaching from the bridleway on eastern side. Plenty to see if you extend your walk over Bulbeck Common.

Parked at the Baybridge picnic area. Did as an 8 mile circular walk including the Bulbeck Common trig. Headed up the lane then past Pennypie House along the bridleway then cutting across the moor once near the trig.

Parked at end of forest road near Quarry gates. Then walked out onto Blanchland Moor to reach a east/west fence line which we then followed east towards the trig. Motorcycle everywhere again for the second time this weekend.

Parked in the middle of Slaley Forest and did the 'Lonesome Pine' cache first then carried on south to the trig point. Bright sunshine today but a bitterly cold wind blowing here. I was glad to get back into the relative shelter of the forest. The T/P is in good condition with all its metalwork in place. Views OK but not exceptional.

Various ways to this one. Normally we pass by on the way up from Blanchland but came in from the Slaley side today. first time to the actual Trig Point as the last 200 yards are through pathless heather and always mindful of adders in this terrain!!!. Panoramic views all round but a wee bit hazy today.
