Almost a drive-by as there is a lay-by adjacent to the pillar which is only a matter of yards from the roadside. As well as being the last trigpoint of my trip, at 1,418ft it was by far the highest. Another pillar built from local stone and carrying a National Trust plaque. It looks like there is a chunk missing from the top, or maybe it was built that way? The centre plug is also missing. Revisited during daylight. Classic Exmoor heather moorland views from here. I agree with Brisey in that the top is a bit damaged, but not seriously.

An easy, almost roadside pillar. Great views all around. Not concrete, but made of stones and appears to have a had a letter box at one time for an early form of geocaching, I think. Also a handy location for a National trust plate.

TP6999 The letter box (?) is just below the NT plate.
TP6999 with Maureen
TP6999 top The spider is too close to one edge so I think there has been some damage.

I hadn't planned to visit this one but whilst driving back from Haddon Beacon (TP3555) it occurred to me that I would drive right past this one. So, despite it being completely dark, I decided to stop at this one, finding a place to park about 200m along the road to the east. I have no idea what the views are - as I said it was completely dark when I visited! Plug missing.
