Only spotted on the map on the day I was heading for Toot Hill from Hackpen Hill, so a bit of a bonus. Visible from road on approach, small lay-by to pull into on north side of road. Spoiled by litter on roadside. Disgusting. Good views towards Swindon. Cap missing.

Too easy! No need to get out of the car (should you wish) to 'bag' this pillar - just pull up alongside, wind the window down and touch the top. Good view of Swindon from here - should you want one.

Easy roadside bag on a minor detour from a journey to visit my mum. All round views of rolling Wiltshire, although bitterly cold, so didn't spend too long examining the fine panorama of Swindon! Centre and N s/hole open, but otherwise vgc.

Our 80th trig! Roadside trig surrounded by open farm land, hence a very strong bitterly cold wind was blowing the whole time. There is parking at a layby a short distance away to the NW of the trig. Trig is on the N side of the road, FB faces the road. Good condition except centre cap missing, no plug. Rear sight hole (i.e. opposite side to the FB) (i.e. the side facing the fence) is open, the other 3 sight holes are now below ground level. I left a 2p coin in the rear sight hole for the next visitor to find.

Located at the side of a minor road off the A4361 Avebury to Wroughton road. Parking is tight, but there is room for a short period to see/touch/photograph/hug the trig (or whatever else one does to a lump of concrete!). Looking a little exposed and forlorn the plug is missing, but otherwise in good condition. Extensive views to the north over Swindon and North Wilts.

The pillar stands on the grassy verge of a minor road near the edge of the Marlborough Downs to the south west of Swindon It lacks a cap or plug and has FB S6280. There is room to park next to the trig. To the north there is a good view over Swindon and a wide expanse of lower flattish countryside. To the south it looks across flat farmland with taller downland ridges rising up in the distance. The trig is within the North Wessex Downs AONB.

Heading towards the M4 afer the Wroughton Science Museum open day we noticed this one beside the road and stopped off for a look. Missing plug. GPSr gave elevation 205m.

Probably the easiest trigpoint to access as it is sitting on the roadside with no overgrowing vegetation around it. Also for a change, the FB plate was facing outwards!
